Obsession by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Synopsis:
This is a stand alone novel that is an adult spin-off of the Lux Series You do not need to read a Lux book to read Obsession and vice versa.

He’s arrogant, domineering, and... To. Die. For.

Hunter is a ruthless killer. And the Department of Defense has him firmly in their grasp, which usually doesn’t chafe too badly because he gets to kill bad guys. Most of the time he enjoys his job. That is, until he’s saddled with something he’s never had to do before: protect a human from his mortal enemy.

Serena Cross didn’t believe her best friend when she claimed to have seen the son of a powerful senator turn into something... unnatural. Who would? But then she witnesses her friend’s murder at the hands of what can only be an alien, thrusting her into a world that will kill to protect their secret.

Hunter stirs Serena’s temper and her lust despite their differences. Soon he’s doing the unthinkable—breaking the rules he’s lived by, going against the government to keep Serena safe. But are the aliens and the government the biggest threats to Serena’s life… or is it Hunter?

My Rating
-4/5-
So first off it is an adult-spin off of the Lux series for a reason. This book has a lot of sexual content.
It covers a lot of details, like basically the whole alien thing what each one is, what weaknesses they have, how the government is involved and all that. It basically covers a lot of information in one book that Lux series took about 4 books to uncover. Though it all worked out, its nothing to over whelming.
This book is very fast paced a lot of action usually going on, lots of fighting.
You get to see Serena and Hunter fall for each other, which is interesting cause Serena is freaked out a lot and Hunter is like a bad boy hates everything kind of person.
It is in two points of view Serena's and Hunter's. Armentrout does a really good job at making them seem very different when they are telling the story.
Oh and this book makes Luxen seem really mean even though the Lux series makes them seem nicer. It makes Arum seem not so bad but it doesn't make them seem to good either. So this book make things, if you read the Lux series more grey then black and white with both the Arum and Luxen.
Also this book and the Lux series over lap for a part which is pretty cool if you ask me.
If you haven't read the Lux series or don't plan to its still a really good Adult paranormal romance.
I really didn't hate much of anything at all about this book, but maybe that's because I really love paranormal romance books.
