Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson

Synopsis:
The Pre-Sloane Emily didn't go to parties, she barely talked to guys, she didn't do anything crazy. Enter Sloane, social tornado and the best kind of best friend—the one who yanks you out of your shell. But right before what should have been an epic summer, Sloane just... disappears. No note. No calls. No texts. No Sloane. There’s just a random to-do list. On it, thirteen Sloane-selected-definitely-bizarre-tasks that Emily would never try... unless they could lead back to her best friend. Apple Picking at Night? Ok, easy enough.Dance until Dawn? Sure. Why not? Kiss a Stranger? Wait... what?

Getting through Sloane’s list would mean a lot of firsts. But Emily has this whole unexpected summer ahead of her, and the help of Frank Porter (totally unexpected) to check things off. Who knows what she’ll find?

Go Skinny Dipping? Um...

My Rating
-5/5-
I was at the store when I seen this book and decided to read it. I mean it sounded pretty good and like it could be a okay easy fun read.
It was so much better then I ever expected. It was a cute summer story with lots of friendship.
Sloane, Emily's best friend, leaves no word from her just an unexpected list of things to do. Emily wouldn't usually do the list but she hopes it will bring her to finding Sloane.
You get to see how this list of 13 things changes Emily's life. You don't really know her from what she was like with Sloane excepted from the flashbacks and what you are told. But from the start to the end of this book you can see that Emily defiantly changes. She makes new friends she becomes more of her own person. She doesn't have to be pushed into doing things on the list as the book goes on.
Plus the friends she has. First Sloane was there and it was Emily's best friend but then she is gone and other people come her way. Making her life different and fun.
So the writing also it was amazing. There were parts were it was so well written and just captured you into the story. Like you didn't have to drag through all the boring parts to get to something interesting. The author skipped the boring parts and did more of what matter with out really taking away from the story or making you wonder. It also made it harder to get bored with the story because it just captured you in.
I loved all the characters and especially the friendships in the story even though not all of them had a happy ending that you know of.
Also the ending was perfect!! Just perfect. I never once thought that the ending would be so good or so perfect. So it shocked me and it was an amazing ending the just made the whole book that much more amazing.
